Advocate story Aug. 04, 2014 Comments Mayor Kip Holden was the keynote speaker for the LSU Chapter of Phi Kappa Phi honor society’s 84th annual spring awards and induction ceremony March 6 at the School of Energy, Coast & Environment. Chapter President Richard Vlosky presided over the ceremony during which more than 150 students, faculty and staff became members. Student awards were presented to Bruno Beltran, Outstanding Junior; Catherine Fontenot, Outstanding Senior; Alex Hotard, National Graduate Fellowship nominee; Megan Rabalais, National Graduate Fellowship first runner up; and Jade Shaffer, National Graduate Fellowship second runner up. Receiving non-tenured faculty awards, co-sponsored by the LSU Alumni Association, were Jennifer Davis, English; Louis Haber, Chemistry; and David Chicoine, Geography and Anthropology; Mary Bowen, Phi Kappa Phi Chapter Appreciation Award; and Cliff Vannoy, of the LSU Alumni Association, honorary member inductee.
