BIG BUDDY PACKET STUFFING, Big Buddy Program – Laurie Hardison (225) 388-9737 or email lhardison@bigbuddyprogram.org: Do your part by helping the Big Buddy Program and Mid-City Redevelopment prepare for the Providence Corporate Cup. Help is needed putting together race packets and gift bags for the runners and then distributing those packets.

Volunteer hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, April 22-25. Help is also needed race day, Saturday, April 26, from 7 a.m. to 1p.m.

SPRING 5K VOLUNTEERS, Girls on the Run – Samantha Rebowe, samantha@girlsontherungbr.org: The Girls on the Run Spring 2014 5K will be held on May 10 at Pennington Biomedical Research Center. Volunteers are need on race day for registration, course set up, water stations, distributing awards and clean up. Help is also needed on Friday, May 9, for packet pickups.

ADVANCE THE COMMON GOOD, Capital Area United Way – Wendy Abboud (225) 346-5804: CAUW is working through a long-term vision for the organization and what it means for its work in the community. Be a part of the process by participating in upcoming Community Discussions or Conversations CAUW will be hosting in all 10 parishes of its service area.

Volunteers will be needed to participate in these conversations as well as to help with facilitating the conversations and note taking. Please e-mail programinvestment@cauw.org for more information.

CARING INDIVIDUALS NEEDED, Baton Rouge General Medical Center, Katherine Neal (225) 381-6601: Enthusiastic and caring individuals are needed to volunteer at Mid City and Bluebonnet locations. A variety of shifts and departments are available at either campus. Volunteers are asked to commit to at least one four-hour shift per week. Strong customer service skills a plus.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED, Cancer Services of Baton Rouge – Brian Hannah (225) 927-2273: Various volunteer opportunities are available including bookkeeper with flexible hours, reception desk from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in four-hour shifts, and Marketing department with flexible hours.
