Attic sale Proceeds from Inner Wheel sales event going to local charities

You know the old saying: One man’s trash is another man’s treasure.

Never is that more true than during the annual Attic Trash and Treasure Sale scheduled Friday through Sunday, Feb. 21-23.

Get ready to roam the aisles and sort through the bins to find your own treasures at the fundraiser for the Inner Wheel Club of Baton Rouge, a non-profit organization dedicated to service and friendship.

Each year, the club divvies up the proceeds from the sale to various organizations. This year’s primary charity is the YMCA of the Capital Area.

Other charities receiving a portion of the proceeds include Families Helping Families of Greater Baton Rouge, the Salvation Army, Rotary Club of Baton Rouge, Alzheimer’s Services of the Capital Area, Women’s Community Rehabilitation Center, Compassionate Friends, Istrouma Area Boy Scouts of America and ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease) Association of LA-MS chapter.

Over the past 22 years, the Inner Wheel’s sale has raised more than $1.6 million for local charities.
