Campbell got the news at a luncheon Monday hosted by the BRES board at Gino’s Italian Restaurant. The LSU Law School graduate began working at AG, which bills itself as “dedicated to the support and success of the independent retail grocer, as an LSU undergrad. From a parttime bookkeeper, Campbell worked his way up from part-time accountant to internal auditor and in-house legal counsel for the company. Three weeks ago, Campbell received the Food Marketing Institute’s Herbert Hoover Award for humanitarian service in the food industry at its Midwinter Executive Conference. Among the civic organizations benefiting from his efforts are the Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center, General Health Foundation, Capital Area United Way, Association of Retarded Citizens and Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank.
