Pam Bordelon: Fundraisers busting out downtown

Two really fun fundraisers are on this Friday’s calendar. The Arts Council of Greater Baton Rouge’s Laurel Street Palooza gets underway at 5:30 p.m. on, you guess it, Laurel Street between the Old Bogan Firehouse (headquarters of the Arts Council) and Chase Bank. It’s a street party you don’t won’t to miss. Get your tickets by calling (225) 344-8558 or online at artsbr.org.

Starting at 7 p.m. at the Manship Theatre’s Hartley/Vey Studio, it’s the second annual BUST Breast Cancer Bra Art & Fashion Show benefiting the breast cancer outreach and education programs at Woman’s Hospital. Tickets for this event are available by calling (866) 451-2782 or online at manshiptheatre.org/events.asp.

As the 2014 party scene kicks into gear with Mardi Gras and a host of other fun events, here are a few reminders about submitting items for Pam’s Party Line.

When taking a photo, please arrange the group so everyone’s face can be seen. Try not to put them in a straight line, but be sure to identify everyone from left to right. Digital images must be high resolution — a minimum of 300KB/1 MB at 4x6.

Write-ups and photos must be submitted in a timely manner so they can run no later than four weeks after the event takes place. Be sure to include the date and place of the event, as well as a contact name and daytime phone number.

Follow this link to see the photos.

Submissions must be received by 9 a.m. on Monday prior to publication by emailing pbordelon@theadvocate.com. Hard-copy photos should be dropped off at or mailed to The Advocate, 7290 Bluebonnet Blvd., Baton Rouge, LA 70821. And, while we try and run every photo submitted, remember photos will be used at the discretion of The Advocate. Your submissions can also be published in The Advocate or at TheAdvocate.com.

Here’s to a great year of partying in Red Stick. Hope to see you out and about soon!
