Patricia Gannon: It’s a Man’s World

It’s a Man’s World

It was men’s night at Andy’s Jewelry as William Henry showcased its knife collection at a special trunk showing. Not that the women were overlooked by any means, with door prizes and wish lists in hand, many skipped Santa altogether and gave themselves a very, merry pre-Christmas indeed. “It’s our first William Henry trunk show,” said Kathy Truxillo. “Men love it and women, too.” Premium wine and catering loosened more than a few purse strings, and in excellent Christmas spirits were Catherine Andrus, Shirley Alexander, Bill and Renee McAlister, Angelle and Jonathan Pearce and Kathie Zimmerman. What we really want to know is the name of the lucky man with the $17,000 knife under his tree.

The Advocate hosted a breakfast at Café Bella for various civic VIPs. Coffee and quiche made getting out at 8 a.m. worth it while the paper’s Kathie Zimmerman and Lou Hudson received guests, and joining them for an early cuppa joe were 37-year Advocate veteran Jay Jackson, couturier Raoul Blanco, ULL’s Aaron Martin, Eric Robichaux and Richard Foard of Moss Motors, newlywed Rosemary Sullivan, Acadian Ambulance vice-president Randall Mann, Richard Young, Ben Berthelot, retired chamber prez Rob Guidry, host Jack Ainsworth and terminally pretty Jennifer Potier.
