POINTE COUPEE HISTORY

WHAT: Foundations of Pointe Coupée Community Series.

DETAILS: The forum focuses on the journey of early Creole families from Nouvelle France to Pointe Coupee from 1608-1740s. Descendant Judith Rabalais Scola shares the discoveries of her research and travels to the early origins.

3RD STREET COFFEE CRAWL

WHAT: A pub crawl to benefit Triumph Kitchen, a nonprofit education venue from chef Chris and Sommer Wadsworth that will serve as a training facility for at-risk youth to learn culinary, hospitality and life skills.

WHEN: 6-10 p.m. Oct. 24; registration begins at 5:30 p.m.

WHERE: Crawl begins at 3rd Street Pub, 421 Third St., and proceeds to three more pubs.
