Each week The Advocate asks a different “quiz taker” for his or her current favorites in pop culture.
QUIZ TAKER: Liz Betz, 57, executive director, Capital Area CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) Association
WHAT I’M LISTENING TO: “Phillip Phillips radio on Pandora.”
WHAT I’M READING: “Kitchen renovation magazines.”
WHAT I’M WATCHING: “I love movies — looking forward to the release of ‘The Butler’ next month.”
WHERE I’M SURFING (ON THE INTERNET): “TheAdvocate.com, of course.”
WHAT’S YOUR GUILTY PLEASURE? “Any dessert. I have a wicked sweet tooth.”
Every year the Capital Area CASA Association raises funds by raffling tickets for a playhouse. Do you have a favorite small playhouse that has been built for Casas for CASA?
“My answer to that is always, ‘This year’s!’”
EVENT INFORMATION: This year’s playhouse, a design that would not look out of place in New Orleans’ Garden District, will be displayed at the Mall of Louisiana from Saturday to Aug. 11. Casas for CASA begins with CASA Fiesta at 7 p.m. Sunday at the Mall of Louisiana with live music and Mexican food from local restaurants. Tickets are $50 and are available online, at the CASA office or at the door.
