STUFF THE BUS, Volunteers In Public Schools (VIPS) — Hope Dawan, (225) 226-4702 or hdawan@ebrschools.org: It’s time to Stuff the Bus on Wednesday. VIPS needs help. Individuals, businesses, civic groups and faith organizations in the Baton Rouge community can sign up to volunteer on the VIPS website, vips.ebrschools.org. School supplies are collected at the Office Depot on College Drive. Last year, more than 120 volunteers collected $62,583 in much-needed school supplies for the 2012-2013 school year. HELP THE FOUNDATION, Rocketkidz Foundation — Susan Hayden, info@rocketkidzfoundation.com: Come out and volunteer for the Rocketkidz Foundation during the last weekend of July. It’s a big race weekend with two races.

Lots of volunteers are needed. Work at a water station, cheer along the race course, welcome racers to the finish line or assist with one of many other tasks. Rocketchix takes place on July 27 and Rocketkidz on July 28. Join in the fun and help Louisiana be a healthier place to live, work and play. Register to volunteer at http://rocketkidz.org.

BE A MENTOR, Boys & Girls Club of Greater Baton Rouge — Onya Carter, (225) 383-3928: Boys & Girls Club of Greater Baton Rouge is looking for supportive adults to volunteer with Club Inspire. Make a difference and serve as a positive role model for youth in the community.

Volunteers will empower club members to make positive life choices and enable them to maximize their potential as well as assist them in developing and reaching positive academic and personal goals.
