Louisiana movies topic for society
Jerry Leggio spoke about the history of motion pictures in Louisiana to the June 15 meeting of the Baton Rouge Genealogical and Historical Society.
Kathe Hambrick-Jackson, curator of the River Road African-American Museum, will speak at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 20, at the East Baton Rouge Parish Bluebonnet Regional Branch Library, 9200 Bluebonnet Blvd. The talk will include a photographic historic overview of the role of faith in the African-American community in Ascension Parish and adjacent river parishes, and information on the museum in Donaldsonville. BR agency receives E Federal donation
Families Helping Families of Greater Baton Rouge received a $950 donation from E Federal Credit Union on June 10 at the E Federal office on Airline Highway.
E Federal CEO Tyler Grodi presented the check to Families Helping Families Executive Director Jamie Tindle. The donation was made through the credit union’s monthly “Blue Jean Fridays” employee giving efforts, with matching funds provided by the credit union.
