Gardenettes donates book to local library

The Gardenettes garden club of Ponchatoula met on June 3 to donate a book on container gardening to the Ponchatoula Library. The donation was part of the club’s participation in National Garden Week, which is observed each year during the first week of June.

The Gardenettes have been working throughout the spring to upgrade and beautify the Butterfly Garden in Kiwanis Park. The gardens at Collinswood Museum are another ongoing club project to promote an appreciation of gardening.

The Gardenettes are members of District VI of the Louisiana Garden Club Federation and the Deep South Region of National Garden Clubs.
