DETAILS: The benefit performance will begin at 6:30 p.m. with a complimentary wine and cheese reception, followed by curtain at 7:30 p.m. Proceeds will support VIPS programs EveryBody Reads, EveryOne Counts, Voyage and Partners In Education.

Passing the flag

Show your support for America’s past, present and fallen Armed Forces personnel.

WHAT: The Baton Rouge Chapter of the Nation of Patriots’ fourth annual Passing the Flag Event, part of the nationwide Patriot Tour 2013.

WHEN: 9 a.m. Saturday.

WHERE: Baton Rouge Harley Davidson, 5853 Siegen Lane.

DETAILS: The Patriot Tour travels a single American flag through a 14,000-mile, 100-day, 48-state journey to support our troops. It is transported from city to city by motorcycle enthusiasts. The ceremony will be a full military honors event with members from each branch of the Armed Forces present in full dress uniform. Maj. Gen. Ronald Richard, USMC retired and currently president and CEO of the Tiger Athletic Foundation, and USAF Lt. Col. Marston McKeon will be guest speakers. The Baton Rouge Pipe and Drum Corp will also perform. Following the ceremony, participating riders will depart with the flag at 10 a.m. for the next stop on the tour, Lafayette.
