“Pop Quiz” column for June 26, 2013

Each week The Advocate asks a different “quiz taker” for his or her current favorites in pop culture.

QUIZ TAKER: Paul E. Laperouse, 32, consultant at SSA Consultants, recently chosen to the Baton Rouge Area Chamber Leadership Program alumni board of directors.

WHAT I’M LISTENING TO: “I have three daughters under the age of 4. Therefore, the only music I am exposed to comes in the form of television shows like ‘Team Umizoomi,’ ‘Peppa Pig,’ ‘3rd & Bird,’ ‘Dora The Explorer,’ etc.”

WHAT I’M READING: “The Advocate, self-help books about how to survive in a house full of females and how to be a better husband.”

WHAT I’M WATCHING: “See ‘WHAT I’M LISTENING TO.’ When I am able to gain control of the remote, I typically watch ‘SportsCenter,’ Fox News, and CNN. I know I should not be admitting this in print, but I also really enjoy ‘Revenge,’ ‘Castle’ and ‘Royal Pains.’ ”

WHERE I’M SURFING: “DandyDon.com, AmericanExpress.com (to actively monitor my wife’s shopping habits) and Chase.com (to see if our bank account has enough money to cover my wife’s shopping habits).”

WHAT’S YOUR GUILTY PLEASURE? “I do not have trouble admitting this, but I thought I would share anyway: On most Friday evenings, I pick up a large Redneck from Zippy’s on my way home from the office.”

What is your favorite summertime activity?

“Without a question, our annual family vacation to Perdido Key, Fla., is my favorite summertime activity. All 18 people (eight kids under 8) in our immediate family crammed into a four-bedroom condo is the epitome of rest and relaxation.”
