Nation of Patriots topic for MOAA
Paul Aubert spoke about the Nation of Patriots organization to the Military Officers Association of America on May 28 at Drusilla Seafood Restaurant.
Nation of Patriots is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to honor America’s armed forces and to raise awareness and financial resources for needy wounded veterans and their families.
Aubert grew up in Reserve and is a Vietnam-era veteran.
He has served as spokesman for the Greater Baton Rouge Muscular Dystrophy Association’s annual Harley-Davidson fundraiser and also for the annual Children’s Toy Run, sponsored by the Harley Owners Group of Baton Rouge Chapter.
Aubert is serving his third term as regional commander for Nation of Patriots.
La. GOP women hold Day at Legislature
The Republican Women of Baton Rouge attended the Louisiana Federation of Republican Women’s Day at the Legislature on May 21.
The event included breakfast in Lt. Gov. Jay Dardenne’s apartment in the Pentagon Barracks, visiting committee meetings at the Capitol and lunch at the Governor’s Mansion. LFRW President June Williams introduced her executive committee, which included RWBR members Wanda Aizpurua, LFRW recording secretary; and Pat Cabral, Region 6 vice president. More than 100 LFRW members attended the event.
RWBR members also attended the Leadership for Change Summit on April 17 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel. Speakers included Gov. Bobby Jindal, former U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and journalist Campbell Brown.
PEO Chapter AC has ‘salad sampler’ lunch
PEO Chapter AC held its annual “salad sampler” luncheon on May 24 at Pat Hoth’s home. President Wynona Martin was co-hostess. Longtime member Ruth Nelson was honored on her 90th birthday.
Martin, the chapter’s delegate, reported on the State Convention, held May 10 in Shreveport.
