“My experiences there showed me how to use science and math in the real world and how to be a leader. I met so many amazing people there, and I also had the opportunity to hear (astronaut) Hoot Gibson and (Black Hawk helicopter pilot) Mike Durant speak, which was so inspiring. I wish everyone interested in science or astronomy could have this opportunity like I did.”

Extra: Amy Faucheux was chosen as one of 227 students from around the world to receive a scholarship to attend Honeywell Leadership Challenge Academy, a weeklong program at the U.S. Space and Rocket Center in Hunstville, Ala. She enjoys school. “I make sure to balance work and school, as well as my extra-curricular activities. I can’t wait for my senior year, but I’m also excited to head off to college and eventually be a chemical engineer.”
