Brave Heart holds April board meeting Brave Heart — Children in Need held its monthly board meeting April 10 at The Galleria office. Members discussed the Inner Wheel’s Trash and Treasure Sale. Brave Heart received half of the proceeds from the sale; the other half was divided among other charities. Brave Heart voted to participate in a pond and garden tour scheduled for May 18. Tara Garden Club holds Easter program The Tara Garden Club held an Easter treat program March 27 at Juban’s Restaurant. Members received candy and participated in a drawing for birdhouses made by Joe Giacone. Members agreed to donate to the Tara Civic Association in the name of Margaret Landry for meritorious service. David and Jane Ourso won the Yard of the Month Award. Thomases named Family of the Month Steve and Cheryll Thomas were named the March Family of the Month by the Father Maynard Hurst Knights of Columbus Council 9016 on April 11. Steve Thomas is treasurer of the St. Louis King of France Ushers Association and organized a fundraiser for WPRY Catholic Radio. Cheryll Thomas is a Eucharistic minister who takes holy communion to hospital patients and helped with recent Lenten fish fry dinners. Donald Arceneaux was named Knight of the Month. He helped with recent Lenten fish fry dinners and delivered dinners to those who could not get out. The “Club News” column runs every Tuesday and Wednesday, and Friday as needed, in The Advocate.
