BY PAM BORDELON May 04, 2013 Comments Employee campaign coordinators for more than 30 area businesses were recognized for their hard work at an April 10 reception hosted by Capital Area United Way at Theatre Baton Rouge. A special token of appreciation was presented by CAUW board chairwoman Christy Reeves to Mike Albano, of Dow Chemical Co., for serving as this year’s campaign cabinet chairman. Five Star awards went to Turner Industries, ExxonMobil, Entergy River Bend, SGS Petroleum and Dow Chemical. Louisiana Healthcare Connections received the New Company Campaign award, and Nustar Energy took home the Top Notch award. Whitney Bank received the award for Leading the Way. Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana and Volunteers of America tied for the Campaign Spirit award. Kit Janis and Paul Martin, of Total Petrochemicals, earned the Best of the Best award. Movin’ on Up awards went to Hannis T. Bourgeois, small business; Rubicon, medium business; and Southern University, large business. Live United awards went to Faulk & Winkler, small business; and Direct General Insurance, medium business. Congratulations to you all for the part you played in making our United Way stronger and our community a great place to call home.
