Each week The Advocate asks a different “quiz taker” for his or her current favorites in pop culture.
QUIZ TAKER: Michael Shingleton, 28, reporter at WBRZ and band coordinator for Wearin’ of the Green Parade
WHAT I’M LISTENING TO: “Everything. The Lost Trailers are on as I’m typing this.”
WHAT I’M READING: “Time, Sports Illustrated, mostly the Internet.”
WHAT I’M WATCHING: “‘The Americans,’ ‘The Newsroom’ when it’s back, ‘Suits.’ Usually just current events. CNN, Fox, etc.”
WHERE I’M SURFING (ON THE INTERNET): “Drudge, actually, http://www.TheAdvocate, Deadspin, Twitter, Reddit, SBNation, YouTube and many more.”
WHAT’S YOUR GUILTY PLEASURE? “Cheese fries and pizza.”
What is your favorite St. Patrick’s Day tradition?
“Two things: Family/group picture at the top of the overpass during the parade before we walk the last leg, and the Marine Corps Band (when they can make it) leading us off. “
EVENT INFORMATION: The 28th annual Wearin’ of the Green Parade rolls at 10 a.m. Saturday to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day. The parade route begins at the intersection of South Acadian Thruway and Hundred Oaks Avenue, then winds its way to Perkins Road, where it continues to Lee Drive.
