This new reality show allows couples from two cities to swap homes, cars, friends, favorite restaurants and culinary tastes for a truly unique vacation. From the moment they arrive in their new home away from home, the traders are challenged with a list of tips and tasks created for them by their counterparts. The goal is to provide the visiting couple with a true insider’s perspective on the best, the wildest, and the most awe-inspiring facets of their hometown. During Asaro and Charbonnet’s adventure in Miami, they participated in activities including salsa dancing, feeding manatees, parasailing and cigar rolling. “My favorite part of the swap was living in another couple’s shoes,” Asaro said. “I loved being with Grant in a unique place, having cultural experiences we never could have without being part of ‘City Swappers.’ ” The Miami natives who swapped with the New Orleans couple took a swamp tour, rode a carriage to Commander’s Palace, went to a crawfish boil and worked at Southern Oaks Plantation, an event facility owned by Asaro’s family. “It’s fun to see couples out of their element. When you push people out of their comfort zones, it’s surprising to watch how much fun they have,” Charbonnet said.
