Jackie Cole, a veterinarian and the volunteer president of the Galveston Island Tree Conservancy, will be the guest speaker at the luncheon. Reservations are required for the luncheon. At the “Arbor Day at the Burden Center,” volunteers will receive training to plant trees at the center where many trees were lost during Hurricane Gustav. Participants will also get to visit Le Pavilion Hotel where there will be a Creole buffet. Access to the hotel will continue throughout the day.
