Advocate story Nov. 14, 2013 Comments The musical “Grease” is coming to Runnels Theater for six performances Feb. 22 through March 3. Show times are 7 p.m. Feb. 22, 23, March 1 and 2 and at 2 p.m. Feb. 24 and March 3. The March 1 performance will include a “Grease” Sing-A-Long and a ’50s costume contest. The show features senior Quint Forgey as Danny and junior Mackenzie Byrd as Sandy. Also in the cast are seniors Maegan Daquano as Rizzo, Cami Russell-Clark as Frenchy, Jamie Claire Curry as Jan, Elizabeth Forgey as Marty, Vaki Nikitopoulos as Kenickie, Everett Hibner as Doody, Nick de Castro as Sonny, Kathleen Niedbalski as Patty, Julia McConnell as Johnny C. and Jesse Thames as Teen Angel, with juniors Caroline Bonaventure as Cha-Cha, and sophomores Remy McConnell as Roger, Caleb Manning as Vince Fontaine, and Max Morgan as Eugene. Ensemble members are seniors Suzannah Burke, Rachel Felton, Mary Katherine Koch, Robert Taboada, Callie Tucker and Savannah Wright; juniors Mike Gallant, Sarah Garrett, Allie Hirsch, Roz Rafii-Tabrizi and Beau Sanders; sophomores Nicole Gardana, Erin Gleason, Griffin Gowdy, Lauren Kahn, Connor Matthews, Caitlyn Moore, Allie Nicholson and Kara Peneguy; freshmen Sarah Coner, Julia Justus, Amber Lane, Catherine McGehee, Anna Morgan, Madison Page, Julia Power, Samantha Sieberth and Meagan Tullos; eighth-graders Joseph Armoney, Jena Bordelon, Micah Danos, Anthony Emiliani, Henry Forgey, Michael Martinez, Abigail Matthews, Anthony Nikitopoulos, Maria Russo and Savannah Sanders; and seventh graders Alex Matthews and Sam Matthews. The stage manager is Runnels senior Madalyn Arboneaux. Advance tickets are $12 for students and $15 for adults, and $20 for all at the door. Tickets are available in the Runnels High School Office or by calling (225) 751-2192. St. Vincent de Paul toy drive St. Michael High School Student Council hosted a toy drive to benefit St. Vincent de Paul this holiday season with students collecting more than 800 toys plus nearly $500 which council officers used to purchase bikes, scooters and other ride-on vehicles for the children ages 12 and younger. Students competed by home room classes with Daniel Wilson’s junior religion class winning. Overall, the juniors collected the most toys among classes and received Class Cup spirit points for this event. Pupils add up for St. Jude Math students at Runnels Elementary School raised $6,485 in donations for the annual St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital’s Math-A-Thon. To raise the money, students in grades first through sixth signed up sponsors to pay for the completion of math problems in a workbook distributed by St. Jude. The top fundraisers at Runnels this year were sixth-grader Hannah Page, who collected $840; and second-graders Eddie Tunis, who raised $655, and Lauren Bhat, who brought in $400.
