The talents of 50 aspiring singers, dancers, models and actors from Louisiana, Mississippi and Texas will be showcased on “Exposure Spotlight” at 7 p.m. and 11 p.m. Saturday on Cox4 (cable Channel 4).
Local promotional talent production company Exposure Entertainment created the show and a companion magazine as an outlet for undiscovered talent, show executive producer Theresa Perkins said.
“It’s a variety show,” Perkins said. “It’s a twist on ‘American Idol’ and ‘X Factor,’ as it offers a variety of talent.”
A red-carpet premier for the show took place Sunday at Grand Cinema, followed by a banquet and awards reception at Renaissance hotel.
The 50 competitors will be narrowed to 24 through online voting after the show airs, Perkins said. Viewers may cast votes at http://www.exposurespotlight.com. Views on http://www.youtube.exposure/exposurespotlight will also be counted as votes for contestants. From the 24, a winner, dubbed “Exposure’s Next Best Super Star,” will be chosen next year. The winner will have opportunities for contracts with entertainment industry professionals.
“Exposure Entertainment” will also be shown on the big screen at Phil Brady’s, 4848 Government St., on Saturday, Perkins said.
