Each week The Advocate asks a different "quiz taker" for his or her current favorites in pop culture.
QUIZ TAKER: Courtney Britton, 30, librarian and resource coordinator for Cancer Services of Greater Baton Rouge and a municipal liaison for November's National Novel Writing Month.
WHAT I'M LISTENING TO: "When I'm listening to Pandora, it's almost always my Pink station, maybe Glee station for a change of pace. I listen to popular rock stations in the car and am currently really digging on Mumford and Sons."
WHAT I'M READING: "I just started ‘Gone Girl' by Gillian Flynn, and it's sucked me in already. I'll probably pick up Nora Roberts' latest book for Thanksgiving travels, but most of my free time this month is spent writing a novel instead of reading them."
WHAT I'M WATCHING: "I'm currently watching LOTS of football! I also like to watch almost anything on HGTV and I love to watch ‘Sports Night,' ‘Psych' and ‘How I Met Your Mother' on Netflix."
WHERE I'M SURFING (ON THE INTERNET): "I check Facebook and Twitter regularly as well as ESPN for fantasy football. I like to read BBC News and Dear Prudence on occasion as well. And of course in November I'll visit the NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) site pretty much every day."
WHAT'S YOUR GUILTY PLEASURE? "Guilty pleasures are historical romance novels and the holiday Oreos. I have to buy a pack each time they come out."
Do you have any writing rituals?
"I'm most productive when writing at CC's with a chai latte and a chocolate chunk cookie. I can't listen to music when I write, as I find it too distracting, but I like to wear my headphones anyway to block out noise and let me really focus."
