Trianon discusses upcoming fundraiser
Trianon, the auxiliary to the Arc of Baton Rouge, met on Sept. 27 at Our Lady Of Mercy Activity Center. President Tammy Duos reminded the members of the Nov. 2 fundraiser at the Renaissance Hotel. Ann Suire, Marianne Beck and Sharon Richard gave reports. Adele Noonan stated she will be on the “Around Town” TV show on Oct. 26. New members Morena Cazedessus and Sharon Lanius were welcomed.
Hostesses were Carroll Benedetto, JoAnne Gross, Wanda Blakeley, Julee Doiron, Duos and Suire.
Harelsons selected Family of the Month
Keith Harelson and his daughter Katherine have been named the honorees of the August Family of the Month Award by the Knights of Columbus Council 9692. Parishioners joined Deacon Frank Bains and Grand Knight David Goldsmith at a Sept. 23 reception honoring the recipients at St. Jude Catholic Church.
Keith serves as a Eucharistic minister and has taught Public School of Religion for many years. He has participated in the Parents in Prayer Workshop, the Small Christian Community groups and works the annual fair. He has served on the Liturgy Committee and assisted with World Youth Day. As a school volunteer, Keith has worked the annual book fair, Santaland, assisted the Athletic Department in the concession stand and clean-up after events and has helped chaperon Girl Scout outings. Katherine is a former altar server, assisted with Vacation Bible School, was a PSR office and teacher aid, was in the Beta Club and the all-district honor band. She participated in World Youth Day, has volunteered at Charlie’s House and is a Girl Scout. She is currently a student at St. Joseph’s Academy and is in the Catholic High School band.
