Host Chuck Hughes visits Magazine Street in New Orleans for “Chuck’s Eat the Street” at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday on the Cooking Channel (cable Channel 231 in Baton Rouge).
Hughes starts with a crawfish pie, gets a lesson in Creole roux at Ignatius, and indulges his sweet tooth and penchant for hot sauce at grocery store Breaux Mart. Later, he eats a panéed Mississippi Rabbit sandwich at La Petite Grocery and tries his hand at pulling taffy in the back of a Roman Candy Company’s roadside attraction.
The show will re-air at 11:30 p.m. Tuesday and 3 p.m. Sunday.
