“Pop Quiz: Ashley Motsinger” column for Oct. 17, 2012

Each week The Advocate asks a different “quiz taker” for his or her current favorites in pop culture.

QUIZ TAKER: Ashley Motsinger, 26, public relations coordinator, Alzheimer’s Services of the Capital Area

WHAT I’M LISTENING TO: “Alabama Shakes and The Decemberists.”

WHAT I’M READING: “Articles on the upcoming election. Certainly not my favorite topic, but I think it’s essential to making an informed decision.”

WHAT I’M WATCHING: “College and NFL football, ‘Modern Family’ and ‘The New Girl.’”

WHERE I’M SURFING (ON THE INTERNET): “http://www.LSUSports.net and http://www.Netflix.com.”

WHAT’S YOUR GUILTY PLEASURE? “I love Harry Potter. The books. I’ve even attempted to make Butterbeer. During my honeymoon to London, my husband and I went to King’s Cross Station and took photos with the luggage cart going into the brick wall, and I’m pretty sure my next vacation will be to Universal Studios Wizarding World of Harry Potter.”

BONUS QUESTION:

“A Walk/Run to Remember” to benefit Alzheimer’s Services is coming up. Are you a walker, runner, or one of those Olympic speed walkers?

“I would love to say one of those Olympic speed walkers, however I’m pretty sure my legs are physically incapable of moving in such a manner. Instead, I will be working hard to make sure everyone has a wonderful time. We invite everyone to come out for some good food, music, and fun for the whole family, and show their support.”

EVENT INFORMATION: “A Walk/ Run to Remember” begins Saturday at 9 a.m. at LSU’s Old Front Nine at the corner of Nicholson Drive and Nicholson Extension. Register online at http://wtr2012.kintera.org or at the event before 9 a.m.
