Each week The Advocate asks a different “quiz taker” for his or her current favorites in pop culture.
QUIZ TAKER: Toni White Douglas, 51, manager of quality management, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Louisiana; treasurer, Susan B. Komen for the Cure Baton Rouge Affiliate; and chair, Pink Ribbon Bowl, set for Oct. 21. For more information visit http://www.KomenBatonRouge.org.
WHAT I’M LISTENING TO: “A wide variety of music from old school to new artists — Marvin Gaye, Commodores, Jason Mraz, Dr. John, Adele, Black Eyed Peas.”
WHAT I’M READING: “‘90 Minutes in Heaven’ by Don Piper, ‘The Shack’ by William Young, and Self and Ebony magazines.”
WHAT I’M WATCHING: “‘War Horse’ and ‘The King’s Speech.’ I just got hooked on ‘The Voice.’
WHERE I’M SURFING (ON THE INTERNET): “Trip Advisor and all kinds of travel sites on places that I’m scheduled to visit or hope to visit. Cheap Tickets searching for airline specials. Facebook, Amazon and other shopping sites and ‘Good Morning America.’”
WHAT’S YOUR GUILTY PLEASURE? “Triple decker PB and J sandwiches with a cold glass of chocolate milk, followed by warm chocolate chip cookies with a refill of milk, but this time without the Hershey’s chocolate syrup in it.”
Since you’re the chair of the Pink Ribbon Bowl, what is your best bowling score? Do you practice very much?
“Probably around 125 to 140, many years ago. Nope, I don’t practice at all. I just get out there and do it!”
