Alpha Kappa Alpha has leadership event
The Nu Gamma Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority held a Leadership Development Forum on May 19 titled “Positioning the Community for the Next Steps in Leadership.”
Panelists included state Sen. Sharon Weston-Broome, state Rep. Ted James, Ascension Public Schools Assistant Superintendent Denise Graves and Domoine Rutledge, general counsel for the East Baton Rouge Parish school system.
Lynn Farris, Leadership Initiative chairwoman, presided. Program participants included Linda M. Brown, President Linda Early Brown and co-chairwomen Linda Joseph and Caroline Mays. Panelists spoke about their journey to leadership and what motivated them. Angela Lee, Shawn Lewis, Toyia Comminey and Kathari Toaston introduced the panelists.
