Pam’s Party Line column for June 14, 2012
St. Michael the Archangel High School hosted its annual Warrior Awards Dinner June 7 at The Little Village on Airline Highway. Special guest for the evening was Superintendent of Catholic Schools Melanie Verges. Receiving the highest honor, the Sword Award, which is presented to one student and one adult who “exemplify basic Christian values through his/her deeds and in the spirit of good will,” were Scott Simoneaux and graduating senior Joshua Ambeau. Simoneaux has served on the school’s advisory board for the past five years and has consulted on facility management and capital projects for the school for the last six years. Additionally, he was a member of the St. Michael Warrior Club for four years, and served on multiple fundraising committees. He and wife Angie were instrumental in starting the school’s annual band fundraiser, “Moonlight & Jazz.”
Ambeau, who received his award during commencement exercises May 18, is an honor graduate who also received the St. Michael and Christian Character awards.
Recognized as Alumni of the Year were Lizzie Burt Scott, class of 1999, and Mark Barbre, class of 1995.
