BR Deltas to introduce 14 debutantes at Presentation Tea
The Baton Rouge Delta Development Corp. and Baton Rouge Delta Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. will present 14 debutantes at their annual Debutante Cotillion on Saturday, Aug. 4. The debutantes will be introduced to the community Sunday during the chapter’s annual Presentation Tea at the Baton Rouge Delta Sorority House, 929 Harding Blvd.
The 2012 coterie of debutantes are Candace LaNette-Robins Allen, daughter of Sheila A. Allen and goddaughter of Kenneth A. Jackson; Victoria Ashleigh Broussard, daughter of Darlene Keller and Thomas Broussard Sr., of Zachary; Jade Nicole Chappell, daughter of Deidra R. Cox; Sydne Radcliff Cunningham, daughter of Helena Radcliff Cunningham and Kevin Eugene-Thomas Cunningham Sr.; Ebony Florae Deloch, daughter of Kelvin and Lynette Deloch; Markeisha Tatyana Forest, daughter of Mark Twain Forest and Andrea Farmer, of New Roads; Bria Sheva Henderson, daughter of Robert Walter Guyton III, of Atlanta, and Robreka Henderson King, of Zachary; Raven Aisha Jones, daughter of Christopher Jones and Nicole Carter Caldwell; Teia Danyell Kent, daughter of Terry Lynn Kent Jr. and Tabatha Bessix-Coleman; Jian Elizabeth Massucco, daughter of Jil Maria Vaughn-Massucco and Assistant U.S. Attorney G. Candace LaNette-Robins Allen is the granddaughter of the late Cornelius Webster Allen Sr. and the late Etta Dumas Allen. She is a senior at St. Joseph’s Academy, where she is a member of the National Honor Society, Beta Club, Key Club, Spanish Club and Mu Alpha Theta honor society. Her sponsor is Charlene T. Wilson, a chapter member. Her mother is a member of Baton Rouge Sigma Alumnae chapter.
Victoria Ashleigh Broussard is the granddaughter of the late Myrtle Keller-Perkins and the late Eugene Keller and Virginia and Wilfert P. Broussard Sr., of Iowa. She is a senior at Zachary High School, where she is a member of the Future Business Leaders of America, the girls track team and DBI Medical Leaders of America. She is the 2011 Miss Jabberwock queen for Baton Rouge Sigma Alumnae Chapter Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. Her sponsor is Crystal C. Davis, a chapter member. Her mother is a sorority member, and her grandmother, the late Myrtle Keller-Perkins, was also a member.
Jade Nicole Chappell is the granddaughter of Luttrell and Edith Levy Cox and the great-granddaughter of the late Buffington Cox and the late Janie Murray Cox, a former chapter president. She is a graduate of Scotlandville Magnet High School. Her sponsors are her grandmother, Edith Levy Cox, and her sister, Ashley R. Cox, both chapter members.
Sydne Radcliff Cunningham is the granddaughter of Andie Herman Radcliff, of New Orleans, and the late Patricia Jones Radcliff and Billie Delpit Cunningham and the late Clarence “Skee” Cunningham. She is a senior at St. Joseph’s Academy, where she is a member of the Beta Club, Students for Unity, the French Honors Club and is a Student Ambassador. Ebony Florae Deloch is the granddaughter of Lillian and Irvin Armstead Sr. and the late Flora Mae Taylor Armstead and the late Emma Williams Deloch and the late Joseph Deloch Sr. She is graduate of Baton Rouge Magnet High School, where she was the director of the African Heritage Choir, and a member of the Key Club and SADD, Students Against Destructive Decisions. She is also a member of the Greater Baton Rouge Super Choir. She will attend the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in the fall. Her sponsor is Shadonna Phenix, a chapter member.
Markeisha Tatyana Forest is granddaughter of Mary Lou Thomas Farmer-Fisher and Mary Magdeline Franklin, both of New Roads, and the late James Louis Farmer and Michael Gauthier, of New Roads, and the late Estelle Carter Moore. She is a senior at Catholic High of Pointe Coupee, where she is a member of the Senior Beta Club and the Key Club, and serves as the volleyball team manager. Bria Shera Henderson is the granddaughter of the late Robbye Robinson Henderson and Robert Walter Guyton II, of Houston, and the late Aline Bourda Lee. She is a senior at Zachary High School, where she is a member of Future Business Leaders of America, the Interact Club, the Spanish Club and the swim team. She attended the 2012 Louisiana Future Business Leaders of America State Leadership Conference, where she placed fifth in the Electronic Career Portfolio event. Her sponsor is Doris G. Raven Aisha Jones is the granddaughter of Bernice Stewart Carter, a chapter member, and the late Chester Allen Carter and Larry and Cynthia Noel Jones, of Livonia. She is a senior at Madison Preparatory Academy, where she is a member of the Fashion Club and the Green Club, which promotes recycling, and participates in cheerleading and track. Teia Danyell Kent is the granddaughter of Beverly Norris and Michael Bessix Sr. and Peggy Green Jackson and the late Terry Lynn Kent Sr. She is a senior at McKinley Senior High School, where she is a member of the band. Jian Elizabeth Massucco is the granddaughter of Joyce Domino and Jonathan Warren “J.W.” Vaughn and Dr. Robert Louis and Mary LaTief Massucco, of Mount Desert, Maine. She is a senior at Baton Rouge Magnet High School, where she is the founder and president of You Got Served Community Service Club of the Baton Rouge Metropolitan Area, and a representative to the East Baton Rouge Parish Mayor’s Youth Advisory Council.
