SOUTHERN LAW STUDENTS PICKED FOR INTERNSHIP: Four Southern University Law Center students are participating in the 2012 Texas Legislative Internship Program created by Texas State Sen. Rodney Ellis (D-Houston). Xavier Alexander, Cari Bershell, Tina Brown and Courtney Heard are among 21 students from Texas, Louisiana and Pennsylvania who will earn college credit while gaining experience in public policy.

Alexander is working in the Harris County Public Defender's office. Bershell is serving at the Innocence Project in New York. Brown is working at the Innocence Project at the Thurgood Marshall School of Law. Heard is serving at the Texas Supreme Court.

Students receive between six and 15 academic credit hours for participating in the program.

Reunions

ST. JOSEPH PAROCHIAL SCHOOL: A reunion of students who attended the old St. Joseph Parochial School on North Street adjacent to the old Catholic High School is being planned.
