The Super Bowl is such a big snack time that this week’s column and the next will be devoted to the snackaholics among us — just in time for the kickoff on Feb. 2.
Dips are primary offerings in the snacking category and while there are many fine choices, try something new with ingredients you like.
Who could go wrong with pizza? It’s popular as either a dinner, lunch or a snack, making it a great place to start. Try a pizza dip for a delicious game-time snack and something just a little different.
Throw in ingredients you prefer — a favorite sauce, pepperoni, mushrooms, bell peppers and my personal favorite, cream cheese.
Pita chips or tortilla chips make the best dipping tool. There are also flavored pita chips that give it an added dimension.
If you are headed to someone’s house for a party and game watching, this dip is easily transportable.
