Bananas, coconuts, cinnamon, nuts perfect companions

Who among us doesn’t crave chocolate on occasion? Sometimes it starts with just chocolate, but sometimes it’s a real chocolate experience.

A cooking “experience” doesn’t just happen. The cook has to be inspired.

When you dream of a chocolate dessert, what are the ingredients you gravitate toward?

For me, bananas, coconut, cinnamon, butter, even pecans make wonderful chocolate companions.

Add ice cream or pound cake or both. Now we’re talking. A slow-cooking chocolate experience is relatively quick by slow-cooking standards and means the cook will need to pay a bit more attention to what’s cooking than usual.

An hour is all that’s required.

It will also require lifting the lid midway through cook time to ensure chocolate chips are melting evenly.

Serve the warm mixture over either ice cream or pound cake.

Seems like a great way to begin a new year.
