Change up with chili

With so much cold weather, the smell of gumbo has been in the air for awhile. If you still want something hot but need a change, try this White Bean Chili.

This chili is a broth-based soup, with a mix of dried seasonings and great Northern white beans. My grandchildren like it, and I think it’s because of the garnishes. They have a choice of shredded cheese, salsa, green onions, sour cream, cilantro or parsley or a few crushed tortilla chips. I did forget to garnish the bowl for the accompanying photo.

This can be served in your Christmas china for a fancier meal.
