Caprese Skewers

Makes 8 to -10 appetizer-sized servings.

1 lb. red cherry or grape tomatoes

1/2 lb. yellow cherry or grape tomatoes

1 bunch basil, washed and stemmed (keep leaves intact)

1 (8-oz.) pkg. mozzarella balls, halved

Balsamic vinegar, optional

1. Wash tomatoes and basil, removing stems from basil leaves.

2. Using party toothpicks (I like the knotted kind), skewer ingredients in alternating order: tomato, mozzarella, basil, tomato, basil, mozzarella and tomato. Plate and repeat until all ingredients are used. Dress in balsamic vinegar if desired.
