Picnic fare to celebrate the independence of our country can range from sandwiches to barbecue. Don’t discount the ease of the slow cooker.
Throw in a batch of chicken wings early in the morning and have them ready for an afternoon picnic or family gathering. It will take all of five minutes to put together so it’s definitely not a time-breaker.
Make your picnic or party one where everyone contributes a dish to share. One of the best gatherings I remember was when no one coordinated and everyone brought what they liked. We laughed when everyone brought something with cheese as a major component. But the laughter was as good as the food.
So enjoy the holiday, the sparklers and the celebration of being together. The wings just complete the picture.
