Feast of Fields
Chappapeela products will be available at the Louisiana Feast of Fields: A Gastronomic Gala.
DATE AND PLACE: 5:30 p.m., April 12, at the LSU AgCenter Botanic Gardens, 4560 Essen Lane, Baton Rouge.
MEAL: Students from the Louisiana Culinary Institute will prepare a five-course meal under the direction of chef Ryan André from Le Creolé. The menu will include a green bean salad with feta and strawberry wine vinaigrette, Vermilion Bay shrimp ceviche, Chappapeela duck breast with summer squash medley and a tasso hash, Community Coffee-braised pork belly with toasted pecan biscotti and sautéed mirliton and, finally, chocolate angel food and strawberry shortcake with Kleinpeter Ice Cream.
