Off the Menu for Feb. 21, 2013

Semolina, 4436 Veterans Blvd., Suite 37, Metairie, will offer a seasonal crawfish menu that features four appetizers and five entrees.

The appetizers include corn and crawfish bisque; crawfish bread loaf, brushed with garlic butter and topped with crawfish tails and a fontina and provolone cheese sauce; a crawfish cake and crawfish and eggplant Napoleon, which features Parmesan-crusted eggplant medallions, smoked gouda cheese, diced tasso and crawfish topped with a spicy cream sauce.

New entrees include a crawfish au gratin; crawfish diablo, a pasta dish that features crawfish, sliced mushrooms, garlic and capers; crawfish etouffee pasta; crawfish cakes and crawfish Roban, a pasta dish with a spicy cream sauce.

McAlister’s Lenten options

McAlister’s Deli is offering new menu options for Lent, including several that feature shrimp.

Some of the deli chain’s offerings include nachos, salads, a Cajun shrimp Caesar salad, a shrimp po-boy, shrimp wrap and a variety of baked potatoes.

“We want our guests to know that they can still enjoy many of their McAlister’s favorites during Lent,” McAlister’s Deli President and CEO Frank Paci said in a news release.

The chain operates several locations around south Louisiana.
