Preheat oven to 350 degrees.2. Cream together shortening and sugar. Add egg and vanilla and mix well.3. Sift together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, 1/4 teaspoon salt and spices. Stir flour mixture into creamed sugar mixture.4. Stir in chopped nuts, remaining salt and persimmon pulp and mix well.5. Drop by rounded teaspoonful on greased or parchment-lined cookie sheet.
