La. Culinary Institute sets leisure classes

The Louisiana Culinary Institute has scheduled an extensive slate of leisure classes.

For April, classes include Introduction to and Advanced Cake Baking and Healthy Italian Cooking.

For May, offerings include Cookie Production and Ice Cream, Sorbets and Frozen Desserts. June selections include making doughnuts and barbecue. July classes include seafood preparation and Mediterranean cuisine.

Grief Recovery Center plans benefit

The Grief Recovery Center will host Culinary Arts for Healing Hearts from 6 to 9:30 p.m. April 24 at White Oak Plantation, 17660 George O’Neal Road.

Scott Rogers will emcee an evening of fine food, with music provided by 5D Band. The event will also feature live and silent auctions. Tickets are $50 and reserved tables for 10 are $600. Call (225) 924-6621.

Churchill’s schedules wine tasting April 25

Churchill’s, 7949 Jefferson Highway, will hold a spring wine tasting at 6 p.m. April 25. Admission is free.

Zolía Bistro plans wine dinner May 3

Zolía Bistro has scheduled a six-course wine dinner hosted by Italian wine specialist Antonio Molesini from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. May 3.
