Pecan Pork Chops

Pecan Pork Chops

Serves 4 to 6. Recipe is by Julie Kay.

1 tbl. onion powder

1 tbl. garlic pepper

1 tsp. celery salt

4 to 6 pork chops

2 tbls. canola oil

¼ cup brown sugar

½ cup bourbon

1 (8-oz.) can pineapple slices, undrained

½ cup pecans

Cooked rice, for serving

1. Mix onion powder, garlic pepper and celery salt together and sprinkle over pork chops.

2. In skillet on stove top, heat oil over medium heat and add pork chops, browning on each side. When browned, remove from heat and place in slow cooker.

3. Mix together brown sugar, bourbon and juice from can of pineapple slices.

4. Pour sugar mixture over pork chops. Top with 2 pineapple slices, reserving remaining slices for garnishing at end. Add one-fourth of pecans to all and cook on Low for 6 to 8 hours.

5. Remove and top with remaining pineapple slices and pecans and serve with rice.
