Rodrigue to head Board of Directors
Melvin Rodrigue, chief operating officer of Galatoire’s Restaurant in New Orleans, was recently named the Louisiana Restaurant Association’s chairman of the board of directors for 2012.
Rodrigue will serve as the ambassador of the Louisiana restaurant industry and will also meet with the association’s nine state chapters.
“It’s a privilege to serve as chair of one of the most influential business organizations in the state. I look forward to furthering the restaurant industry’s identity and reputation among political leaders, educators, consumers and most importantly, the members of the association,” Rodrigue said.
He has been active in the LRA for 10 years and served as the president of the Greater New Orleans Chapter in 2006. He is also president of the Ernest N. Morial New Orleans Exhibition Hall Authority and has volunteered his time to state board committees.
“We are fortunate to have someone like Melvin who gives so much of his time to making our industry, state and city better,” said LRA President and CEO Stan Harris. “Melvin’s service to our community and others is exemplary.”
