Chicken wings great for party
Super Bowl parties aren’t just about watching football and better-than-average commercials. They’re also about food.
Many households tend to bring out the heavy appetizers instead of a full meal for game-day parties, but whichever the choice, it’s a good time to try something new. Chicken wings might be just the thing.
Chicken wings are not only economical, but extremely versatile. There are a number of sauces that work well with poultry, from sweet to the spicy. The key in slow cooking lies in freshening the sauce after cooking is complete.
Freshening accomplishes two things. First, it brightens the color and, secondly, it provides a stronger burst of flavor.
Brush fresh sauce on wings while still hot, but after they are removed from the cooker. If a darker coating is desired, put wings under broiler for a few minutes after wings are cooked and sauce is freshened.
Buy a family pack of wings and there will be plenty for a small party. Bring out the football platters and the team colors, whichever team is your favorite, and celebrate with good food and friends.
