What began with an abandoned baby raccoon and a lifelong love of animals led Deborah Simmons Harris to create her own wildlife sanctuary for orphaned and injured animals.

Her Wildbabies Care Sanctuary is an all-volunteer facility with two goals — to restore the animals to health so they can be released to their natural environment and to educate the public, especially children, about the environment and biodiversity.
