Inaugural festival to celebrate filmmaking
The first Life Film Festival opens at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 20, in the Manship Theatre at the Shaw Center for the Arts, 100 Lafayette St.
Tickets for the all-day event are $20 regular admission, $30 VIP.
The festival, organizers announced, celebrates filmmaking and encourages a broad spectrum of filmmaking. The event also is intended to uplift attendees and encourage them to make a positive difference in their communities.
Life Film Festival awards will be presented for best actress, best actor, best screenplay and best director. There will also be a grand jury award for best film.

The schedule of events is: 10:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m., luncheon mixer; 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., screening of promotional trailer for Doonby and the American Family Studios’ latest film; 12:30-1 p.m., question and answer session with producers and actors; 5 p.m., pre-mixer with food, exhibits and gift bags for VIP ticket holders; 5:30 p.m., screening of the Life Film Festival featured film; 6:10 p.m., screening of the Life Film Festival nominees for best film; and 7:45 p.m., The Life Film Festival awards ceremony.
