Spring forward into the mixed martial arts season by catching the first cage fighting event in Baton Rouge on Saturday, March 23. Gladiator Promotions returns to the Texas Club with an event that features talented local fighters from across the south.
Hometown Ultimate Fighting Championship veteran Kyle Bradley (16-9) will compete against Ryan “Bones” Bixler (25-22-1) as the main event. Bradley, who has won two of his last three fights, is coming off of a submission loss to Lanny Dardar.
Bixler’s wins have mostly come from submissions. Even though this fighter has had a two-year losing streak, he took six months off to train and is now looking to redeem himself.
Both fighters have Brazilian Jiu Jitsu knowledge, so this bout has the potential to be a tennis match on the ground.
Undefeated Justin Friddle (4-0) was scheduled to fight Adrian Miles, but has stepped down because of a knee injury.
Eric Thompson (6-14) from Slidell will now be fighting Miles. Thompson was on a losing streak before his bout last month in Jackson, Miss. He redeemed himself by defeating Sean Baudier in the second round with a technical knockout (TKO) due to strikes.
Adrian Miles (7-5) from Birmingham, Ala. is also coming off of a first round win last month. Although Miles has won the majority of his fights by TKO, he has shown an improvement in his ground game by ending his last two fights by submission.
Thompson has fierce leg strikes and destructive stand-up capabilities. In fact, this fight should be a stand-up war as both fighters try to defend their records.
