Crescent City Lights Youth Theater, in partnership with the New Orleans Recreation Development Commission, has opened its 20th season of summer musicals performed by all-children casts with A Pocketful of Rhymes, which runs Fridays through Sundays, through Sunday, July 21.
A Pocketful of Rhymes is the Broadway hit musical from the ’80s starring the world’s first lady of rhyme – Mother Goose. The show brings classic nursery rhymes to life from Little Boy Blue to The Cat and the Fiddle to a high stepping hoe-down Yankee Doodle Dandy. All performances feature a live. four-piece band of New Orleans professional musicians.
Performances are set for 7:30 p.m. Fridays, 1 p.m. Saturdays and 3 p.m. Sundays in the New Orleans Recreation Department Ty Tracy Theatre, first floor of Gallier Hall, 545 St. Charles Ave., New Orleans. The theater entrance is on Lafayette Street.
