The Le Petit Théâtre du Vieux Carré, 616 St. Peter St., New Orleans, will stage six plays in its new season, beginning with the Friday, July 19, opening of the lagniappe production, Love, Loss and What I Wore.
This production is a prelude to the theater’s seasonal lineup of five plays, which run through mid-2014.
Director Carl Walker will direct five local actresses in the poignant Love, Loss and What I Wore, written by the late Nora Ephron and her sister Delia, based on the best-seller by Ilene Beckerman. The preseason production will allow theater personnel to acclimate to the newly renovated theater before its busy regular season, which will debut Thursday, Sept. 5, with Lombardi, followed by Hair in November, Golda’s Balcony in late January, Death of a Salesman in May and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat in July.
Season subscriptions and single tickets to Love, Loss and What I Wore are now on sale through the theater’s website, http://lepetittheatre.com, and the box office. The box office will be open 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays. Single ticket prices range from $10 to $50.
The 2013-14 season lineup is:
- Sept. 5-21, Lombardi.
- Nov. 8-23, Hair.
- Jan. 24-Feb. 8, 2014, Golda’s Balcony.
