Pride Fest celebrates with music, food, more

Baton Rouge Pride Fest, in its seventh year, is returning to the Belle of Baton Rouge Atrium Saturday, June 15.

The annual event celebrating the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community runs from noon to 6 p.m. at 102 France St., downtown.

Planned are an indoor picnic, entertainment, community resource fair, a kids’ area, games, the blessing of relationships at 3 p.m. and more.

Entertainment will feature Daphne MuShatt, Michigan Avenue, Austin Babtist Women, the Krewe of Divas, Pocket Aces Brass Band, the New Orleans Gay Men’s Chorus, Josh Duffy, Sigma Phi Kappa fraternity and guest performers from Splash.

Honorary grand marshals for the day are Eunice native Jody Huckaby, executive director of Parents, Families, and Friends of Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG) National; and Carol Frazier, president of the Baton Rouge chapter of PFLAG.
