North Gate Fest returns

The 8th annual North Gate Fest returns to Highland Road at Chimes Street 5 p.m.-11 p.m. Friday, Nov. 9. Presented by the North Gate Merchants Association, the LSU-bordering festival features music, arts and food. Righteous Buddha headlines the event’s music this year. England in 1819 and Pacifico also will perform. Clarke Cadzow, one of the festival’s organizers, says the event seeks to help festivalgoers appreciate the historical significance of the North Gates area. “But even more so,” Cadzow added, “we want people to have a great time in a unique, fun and safe environment.”
